Five of Axial Vinos’ references have been scored with more than 90 points and have achieved high ratings by Suckling.
The famous Hong Kong-based taster, James Suckling, was amazed by the five wines presented by Axial Vinos at his annual tasting: Las Margas Garnacha Blanca 2021 from Bodem Bodegas (PDO Cariñena); Prados Privé 2019 and Prados Colección Garnacha 2020 produced at Pagos del Moncayo (DO Campo de Borja); and Lúculo Origen 2019 and Lúculo Garnacha Blanca 2021 produced at La Casa de Lúculo (PDO Navarra).
Scores 90 points or more James Suckling
Below are the points from Suckling’s reviews of the wines that Axial Vinos sent to the tasting of its three wineries:
90 points Las Margas Garnacha Blanca 2021
Citrus with some white fruit, such as nectarines and hints of almonds and white flowers. Medium-bodied and elegant with a slightly chewy structure from the nice phenolic grip on the finish. Vegan.
91 points Prados Privé 2019
A heady, concentrated red with hints of roasted cherries and plums, as well as a refined, balsamic tone and some dark chocolate in the fruit. Rich, enveloping and full-bodied, with nice tannins and a fairly long finish. A great wine, well balanced.
90 points Prados Colección Garnacha 2020
Rich strawberries, cherries, licorice and toasted spices on the nose follow through to a medium-bodied palate with tannins, red cherries and plums extending to a moderate finish.
91 points Lúculo Origen 2019
Wild cherries, white pepper, dark plums, dried herbs and lingering scent on the nose. Medium-bodied, with tannins and crisp acidity. Dark and spicy, with a dusty texture. Concentrated, juicy and serious.
90 points Lúculo Garnacha Blanca 2021
Characteristic aromas of apricots, quince and aniseed. On the palate it is floral and quite aromatic, with a touch of white almond and spice. Fresh, with moderate acidity. From organically grown grapes.
