Bodem Bodegas launches Las Margas Vidadillo, the first rosé of this variety in Spain.

Bodem Bodegas located in the Cariñena PDO, in the heart of the Sierra de Algairén, launches a new wine, Las Margas Vidadillo.

In five years and with the launch of this rosé, the winery has created the Las Margas family, consisting of Las Margas Tinto, Las Margas Garnacha Blanca and this latest production, Las Margas Vidadillo.

On this occasion, Bodem Bodegas surprises with the production of 5,300 bottles of a 100% Vidadillo rosé. The first rosé of the Vidadillo variety produced in Spain.

A rosé wine, «As unique as you are», as the slogan that will accompany its launch indicates, coinciding with Mother’s Day weekend. A special date to promote a unique wine, just like a mother.

A contribution of exclusivity, specialty and uniqueness. In short, a privilege within reach of all those who are attracted by the unique.

The purpose of this wine is to express in a bottle the essence of the area of La Sierra de Algairén, from a native grape, the Vidadillo variety.

An ancestral variety, present since the 12th century, whose origin is in Cariñena. Some of the few vineyards of this variety can be found in Almonacid de la Sierra, where Bodem Bodegas is located.

The Vidadillo grape is the maximum expression of the terroir and the microclimate of the area, which make this wine a balanced rosé, due to the role played by acidity and tannins.

Las Margas Vidadillo, a unique grape.

The cycle of the Vidadillo variety is long. Its clusters contain a large number of large berries. The name of this grape variety has been modified throughout its history, from vidadico to its final denomination, Vidadillo.

The particularity of Las Margas Vidadillo’s winemaking process lies in the type of grape, the grape harvest and the fermentation process.

The harvest of Las Margas Vidadillo is done by hand and in boxes at the end of September, which go directly to the press where, after a gentle crushing, they are fermented in a stainless steel tank.

Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts over a period of 20 days, after which the wine remains in contact with its fine lees for 3 months until bottling.

Las Margas Vidadillo is characterized by its intense raspberry color. The nose shows good intensity with ripe red fruits, dried flowers and undergrowth.

A very complex and expressive wine of the Vidadillo variety.

Smooth on the palate with refreshing acidity and hints of fresher red fruit. A long, deep-drinking rosé.

This launch continues to highlight the role of women in the world of wine. As can be seen, the label shows the silhouette of a lady carrying a ceramic amphora on her head.

The ceramic refers to the characteristics of the soil from which the grapes used to make Las Margas Vidadillo are grown and the area in which it is located, known for its wine and ceramics.

The stripes of the skirt simulate the different layers of the soil, that terroir so characteristic of the Sierra de Algairén.

The colors chosen, a chromatic range of pinks, are marked by the type of wine it is and the grape that composes it.

Las Margas Vidadillo is the result of the work of a great team of people who have opted for a native grape.

Bodem Bodegas has invested in R+D+I and in the study of the best plots of this grape variety to be able to produce and give wine lovers the opportunity to enjoy a unique wine, a 100% Vidadillo rosé.

The Sustainable Winery, Bodem Bodegas.

Bodem, which means «soil» in Dutch, truly symbolizes the origin of this winery with Dutch roots.

After more than 30 years working and living for Spanish wine, the Geirnaerdt-van Ekeris family found in Cariñena the place to which they felt deeply attached.

Marga slopes stand out in the Sierra de Algairén. Gray, arid and eroded lands, where the elegant Garnacha finds its little paradise.

Cariñena is the great unknown beyond Spanish borders; the forgotten cradle and birthplace of the Garnacha grape, where the variety has been cultivated since before the third century B.C. Bodem Bodegas is located in the heart of the Sierra de Algairén; cradle and birthplace of the Garnacha grape.

Bodem Bodegas is a disruptive winery focused on sustainability. It disrupts the wine industry for the benefit of its customers, winegrowers and its people.

Bodem is committed to the quality of its vegan wines, zero impact on the environment and innovation in production techniques. The goal of this winery is to produce elegant and quality wines that leave no one indifferent.

Bodem Bodegas belongs to the group of family wineries with Dutch roots. Axial Vinos owns two other wineries: Pagos del Moncayo (DO Campo de Borja) and La Casa de Lúculo (DO Navarra).

The three family wineries aim to make high quality natural wines.
